Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to every quotation, booking and order; approving a quotation or paying an advance means you accept them. A signed project agreement overrides them where they differ. “We” means Second Season Fashion Design L.L.C; “you” means the client.
Quotations are valid for 4 working days; after that we may re-quote. A quotation covers only what it lists; extra styles, sizes, colourways, revisions or post-approval changes are charged separately.
Prices are in AED, exclusive of 5% VAT, and may differ for repeat orders. Materials, shipping and third-party costs are charged at cost and paid up front unless included. Imports we handle carry 5% customs duty plus a 10% procurement fee. Detailed garments are quoted after sample review.
We sell time. Every service is scheduled against studio capacity and slots go to whoever confirms first. An order is confirmed when we have your written approval and the advance has cleared; until then no slot is held. Package clients take priority in the queue.

Nothing leaves the studio — goods, samples, patterns or files — until every invoice on your account has cleared. No exceptions. Overdue invoices attract 1% interest per month; we may pause work and release your slot. International bank charges are yours.
A studio visit carries a AED 100 deposit, refunded or credited when you book a service. Paid consultations are booked in two-hour blocks or more, non-refundable, reschedulable with 24 hours’ notice; the fee is credited if you book a package within 30 days.
Flat drawings and sampling: five styles or more. Production: 12 pieces per style — three sizes, four each, one colourway. Each break of that structure, including an extra colourway, carries a 10% surcharge on that style. No exceptions on individual services.
Design 1–2 weeks · Sampling 1–2 weeks · Production 1–2 weeks, all depending on the queue, your fabric and your approvals. Dates on quotations are estimates. The clock starts when the advance has cleared and we have your materials. Respond to approval requests within 3 working days; longer delays shift delivery by at least as long and may move you back in the queue.
Rush production: +25%, delivery brought forward by up to two weeks. Design and sampling are not rushed.
If we miss the delivery date we confirmed and the delay is entirely our fault — not the queue, your materials, your approvals, or anything outside our control — we credit 1% of that stage’s value against its invoice for each full week of delay.
Each stage — sketch, flat, toile, final sample — needs your written sign-off (email or WhatsApp counts) before the next begins. Approved work is not revised free later.
Production is made to the approved final sample. Approving it means you accept its fit, construction and finish as the standard for the run.
You approve all fabric before it is ordered or cut. Materials are yours and at your risk while with us, except for damage caused by our negligence.
If you supply fabric or trims, their quality is your responsibility; we are not liable for mill defects, lot variation, or problems that only show once cutting begins. If we find a defect during production we stop, move your order back into the queue, and you have 2 weeks to supply replacements; after that the order goes on hold under clause 13. Materials must arrive in the quantity we specify, with shrinkage and cutting allowance; waste is not returned. Shortfalls and courier delays extend the timeline. Production fabric may not exactly match a swatch.
Bulk garments may vary from the approved sample by up to ±1.5 cm on primary measurements. We deliver the exact quantity ordered; if something outside our control prevents that, we tell you before delivery and invoice what is delivered. Minor variation in colour and hand-finished detail is not a defect.
Every order gets two rounds of QC. Report any issue in writing within 72 hours of delivery (7 days for 300+ pieces); after that it is accepted. We warrant our stitching and construction for 6 weeks from delivery. Where a defect is ours we repair, remake or credit the affected pieces, at our choice; that is the limit of our liability for a defective delivery. The warranty excludes fabric quality, the approved design itself, and improper use: wearing a garment for a purpose or on a body it was not made for, or any garment showing stretching or wear.
We draft, hold and maintain patterns for your sampling and production. They stay ours unless released; unreleased patterns are discarded 6 months after your last order. Grading is discounted when production is placed with us. Release is AED 250 per pattern, discounted with production, free in the Private Client package. Once released, the pattern is yours and we destroy our internal records of it.
Approved designs, drawings, tech packs and released patterns transfer to you when that invoice is paid in full; until then all rights stay with us. We keep our own methods, templates, blocks and know-how. Your brand name, logo and artwork remain yours; you confirm they are yours to use and cover us if not.
References are welcome; copies are not. If we judge a design you bring to be another brand’s — including another client of ours — we will refuse to reproduce it. If a design made on your instructions infringes someone’s rights, the liability is yours.
We may show our work for you in our portfolio and social channels once your product is public, unless you ask in writing beforehand that it be kept private.
Your designs, pricing and business information are confidential automatically; no NDA is needed, though we will sign one. We use them only for your project and destroy or return your materials within six months of it closing.
You will not hire, engage or solicit our staff or contractors who worked on your project, directly or indirectly, for 12 months after it ends, without our written consent. If you do, you pay AED 50,000 per person as agreed compensation.
We book time. When you confirm a slot we turn other work away, so refunds are limited to the following.
Cancel any order in writing within 48 hours of paying the advance and it is returned, less costs already committed on your behalf. This covers every service, production included.
You pay for work completed and non-recoverable committed costs; any balance is refunded. Exception: the 30% production slot deposit is never refunded after the cooling-off period. It is the price of the slot we held for you.
Tell us in writing. We deduct work done from your deposit at a discounted rate and hold the rest as credit against future work; credit is not refunded in cash.
If we cannot get approvals, materials or payment from you, we send an inactivity notice; if we still hear nothing, the project is cancelled and the deposit forfeited.
Management may agree an exception at its discretion, with supporting proof.
Changes after confirmation are a new instruction and may affect price and timeline.
We hold your goods until your account is paid in full. Goods, samples and unused materials are held free for 30 days from our notice that they are ready. After that — whether uncollected or held over an unpaid balance — storage is charged at 2% of order value per month, accruing for 6 months. Risk passes to you at the end of the free period. If we hear nothing after 6 months, we may sell the goods and apply the proceeds to what you owe, including storage; you remain liable for any shortfall, and any surplus is returned.
Overseas clients: we ship at your cost with export documents; risk passes at handover to the carrier, and destination duties and taxes are yours.
Our total liability on any order is limited to what you paid us for it. We are not liable for lost profit, lost sales, brand damage or other indirect loss. Nothing here limits liability the law does not let us exclude. We are not responsible for delays outside our control — suppliers, customs, transport, utilities and the like.
The version of these terms in force when you confirm a quotation applies. If any part cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms are governed by the laws of the UAE as applied in Dubai. Disputes are first discussed between us for 30 days; failing that, Dubai Courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
These additional terms apply to masterclasses and events booked through secondszn.com. Online payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store card details.
Each registration secures one seat for the named attendee and is confirmed once payment succeeds. Registration closes at the published deadline or when the event reaches capacity, whichever comes first.
Seat fees are non-refundable. If you can no longer attend, email hello@secondszn.com before registration closes and we will do our best to help. If we cancel or postpone an event, you will be offered a seat at the new date or a full refund.
Photography and video take place during our events. By registering, you acknowledge that you may appear in event photography and video, and consent to Second Season using it in its marketing, website and social media. If you would prefer not to be featured, tell our team on the day.
